A Prayer
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2 Amen.

Dear God, source of all life, health and healing, as we embrace this Easter season celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, look with compassion on our world, protect us in the midst of the grave challenges that attack us and in your Godly providence grant recovery to the stricken, strength to those who care for them, and success to those working to eradicate this plague. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Leaders Responsible for Making Decisions
Gracious God, , we seek Your wisdom daily. Be with people making decisions that affect the lives and futures of our families, communities, countries, and the wider world. We pray that they communicate clearly, truthfully, and calmly with each other and with the public and that their messages are received and heeded. May truth and empathy be the touchstones of people setting policies for our protection. Amen.
Gospel Lesson and Reflection
Mark 4:35-41 “Jesus Calms the Storm”
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
